"For I delivered to you first of all that which I also received: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, 4 and that He was buried, and that He rose again the third day according to the Scriptures" (1 Cor. 15:3-4).
Jesus died, and was buried, and rose again. But why? The Bible is clear that every person is a sinner in need of a Savior, "for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God" (Rom. 3:23). The Bible is also clear that God is just and, therefore, must punish sin. "For the wages of sin is death" (Rom. 6:23a). This is not only a physical death but also a spiritual death, separation from God and suffering in Hell for all eternity. "But the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus" (Rom. 6:23b).
The Bible says, "for God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life" (John 3:16). This is the good news of the Gospel! We cannot earn salvation, but if we surrender our lives to Jesus and trust in Him alone, we can be forgiven of our sins, call Heaven our home, and walk in newness of life through a personal relationship with God! Have you come to a point in your life that you have surrendered to Jesus? If not, do not wait, today you can turn from your sin and trust in Him!
